ASE 2027 Annual Conference

This panel discussion is for all Secondary Science Leaders; experienced, new to and aspiring. Come along and hear from colleagues working at the chalk face who will share their insights into some of the key challenges facing schools and leaders. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to share and discuss the many challenges of leading in Science.

As well as discussing your own successes and challenges, topics are also likely to include:

> developing your team - planning and leading CPD
> Supporting non-specialists and non-scientists
> Leading curriculum change
> The road ahead for science leadership

All those registered with a Technicians day ticket are warmly invited to the Techs day lunch, during which the Technician awards will be presented, as follows:

> Outstanding Contribution – celebrating an individual who goes above and beyond to support science teaching and learning

> Lifetime Achievement – honouring long-term commitment, expertise, and service to the technician profession

Hear from fellow primary educators sharing short, sharp insights from their classrooms: something they’ve tried, something that’s shifted practice, or something that’s made a real difference to pupils.

From rethinking the curriculum to small tweaks with big impact, each talk offers a glimpse into real practice – honest, practical, and usable. Dip in, get inspired, and leave with a handful of ideas you’ll want to try straight away.

This session is coordinated by the ASE Primary Committee who will be present to help and support throughout the session - come along and join in!

Join fellow teachers to spark ideas, share challenges and solutions, and develop new classroom resources. Come along with your enthusiasm and experience – no resources necessary!

This fast-paced, hands-on session is designed to strengthen primary and secondary climate change teaching.
Delegates will work in small groups so that by the end of the Hackathon, you will have:

designed engaging ways to tackle common misconceptions;
identified existing resources that can be repurposed in alternative ways;
developed new resources and ideas for the classroom.

You will be supported by climate change experts and curriculum developers to create ideas and resources that can be used by teachers across the country.
