About me
I started my professional career as a classroom teacher and science lead in a London primary school. I was and remain passionate about classroom learning that promotes a scientific mindset alongside the development of an understanding of key scientific concepts. This professional start has fuelled my research into the pedagogical potential of classroom dialogue to enhance cognitive challenge in science classrooms and drive assessment practices in scientific inquiry. Within this research field, I also explore how continuous professional learning can transform practice. My research provides practical, theoretically informed examples of how classroom dialogue can promote thinking in science lessons. As the editor for the Association for Science Education, Science Teacher Education Hub, I have created an online space that invites the entire science community, involved in facilitating and engaging with science teacher education, to share their scholarly knowledge and insight.
