About me
Hasok Chang is the Hans Rausing Professor of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge. He received his degrees from Caltech and Stanford, and has taught at University College London.
He is the author of Inventing Temperature: Measurement and Scientific Progress (2004), Is Water H2O? Evidence, Realism and Pluralism (2012), and Realism for Realistic People: A New Pragmatist Philosophy of Science (2022). He also co-edited (with Catherine Jackson) An Element of Controversy: The Life of Chlorine in Science, Medicine, Technology and War (2007), a collection of original work by undergraduate students at University College London.
He is a co-founder of the Society for Philosophy of Science in Practice (SPSP), and the Committee for Integrated History and Philosophy of Science.
