Project Groundwater Greater Lincolnshire is funded by Defra as part of the £200 million Flood and Coastal Innovation Programmes which is managed by the Environment Agency. The programmes will drive innovation in flood and coastal resilience and adaptation to a changing climate. We've developed a book about groundwater flooding based on an Aardman animation we had commissioned named Darcy's Tale. This is a children’s book, about a lovely little mole searching for love amongst a flooding event and shows the importance of community resilience. It also contains educational resources and puzzle pages to engage with children. Darcy is aimed at KS1 and/or KS2 aged children as this age group often respond better to narrative based learning and interactive activities forming part of the STEM learning program Our aim with creative, story-driven content that inspires curiosity and builds understanding at an early age an awareness of flood resilience education.
